Who we are
BHS - Ac, Dip Tuina-Qigong
I have always had an interest in medicine other than the conventional western regime but it wasn't until I was teaching English in South Korea (2001-2002) when I became ill (initially resorting to western medication which didn't work) that a friend took me to a traditional Korean medical doctor who treated me using acupuncture and Korean herbal medicine. Within one 10 day batch of herbs and two acupuncture sessions I was much better and this experience inspired me to enrol at the NZ School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (NZSATCM) in Wellington.
After graduating with the Diploma of Tuina-Qigong in 2005 I practiced Tuina
part time along with my work in health stores and Simillimum
Homeopathic Pharmacy which helped me gain a greater understanding of
alternative western nutritional methods.
The 4 year Diploma in Acupuncture as well as 2 years of the Diploma in Chinese
Herbs were completed by the end of 2007 when I became a member of the NZ
Register of Acupuncturists (NZRA) and an ACC treatment provider.
Early 2008 I moved to Auckland and built up the practice which is now Ana-Med
Acupuncture.
The Acupuncture diploma was transferred to a Bachelor of Health Science -
Acupuncture through NZSATCM in Auckland 2012.
